Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Gordan Jandroković received CoE Parliamentary Assembly President Mevlüt Cavusoglu

Jandroković confirmed that Croatia placed special importance on the Council of Europe’s activities and cooperation with its bodies, and supported the democratic values and human rights it promoted

Jandroković confirmed that Croatia placed special importance on the Council of Europe’s activities and cooperation with its bodies, and supported the democratic values and human rights it promoted.

He pointed out that Croatia backed the current reform processes within the Council and was interested in their successful outcome. Parliamentary Assembly President Cavusoglu commended Croatia’s constructive contribution to said processes, as well as the progress achieved in the short period since becoming a member of the Council of Europe.

Minister Jandroković informed his collocutor about the present status of Croatia’s EU accession negotiations, the government’s efforts to close them by end-June this year, and the timeframe for all the activities to be done before Croatia’s final accession to the European Union.

The collocutors also discussed the current situation in the region of South Eastern Europe, with Minister Jandroković taking the opportunity to express Croatia’s views on the state of affairs in the region.
