The collocutors described the two countries’ bilateral relations as very good and unburdened by outstanding issues, as evidenced by the numerous high-official meetings.

Minister Jandroković pointed out Croatia’s goal to close the EU negotiations by end-June this year and in that regard thanked Romania for its continuous support.

Ambassador Dinescu confirmed Romania’s continued strong support during the final stages of the negotiations and announced that Romania would certainly be one of the first countries to ratify Croatia’s Accession Treaty.

The collocutors expressed conviction that Croatia’s joining the EU would further strengthen its partnership with Romania, which will contribute to the further stabilization of the region as a whole.

The meeting also discussed the approaching Danube Forum, which will be held end-April in Vukovar and also see the participation of the Romanian prime minister, as well as other officials from the Danube macroregion countries and the European Union.
