Minister Jandroković thanked Hungary for supporting Croatia’s accession process, saying he was convinced Croatia would close the negotiations during the Hungarian EU presidency. To that end, Croatia will double its efforts in conducting the necessary reforms and meeting the remaining criteria for closing the negotiations, said the minister.

The Hungarian MPs confirmed that was the Hungarian Government’s priority and that would be among the first ones to ratify Croatia’s Accession Treaty. In that regard, Chairman Balla pointed out that there was a consensus among all of the parliamentary parties on Croatia’s joining the EU as soon as possible.

The collocutors also agreed to continue building the strategic partnership and carry on with the excellent political, economic, energy, cultural and cross-border cooperation, while maintaining a high level of national minority protection that can serve as an example both to the region and the European Union.
