Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Gordan Jandroković met with Macedonian Deputy Prime Minister for European Affairs Vasko Naumovski

Minister Jandroković commended today’s meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Naumovski, as well as the visit by the delegation of the Secretariat for European Affairs of the Republic of Macedonia, which will through contact with the Croatian EU negotiating team receive useful information on individual negotiation chapters

Minister Jandroković commended today’s meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Naumovski, as well as the visit by the delegation of the Secretariat for European Affairs of the Republic of Macedonia, which will through contact with the Croatian EU negotiating team receive useful information on individual negotiation chapters. The collocutors agreed that the bilateral relations between Croatia and Macedonia were friendly and unburdened by outstanding issues.

In regard to the status of Croatia’s negotiation process, Minister Jandroković said Croatia had entered the final phase and was putting forth additional efforts to close the negotiations during the Hungarian EU presidency.

He also pointed out that Croatia was continuously transferring its negotiation experiences to the countries of South Eastern Europe and remained open for assisting them in their Euro-Atlantic integration process.

Minister Jandroković said he believed that Croatia’s full readiness in the moment of joining the EU would be the best indicator of the success of the enlargement policy and motivate the countries in the region to be even more determined in their reforms. In that regard, Croatia supports the Euro-Atlantic perspective of Macedonia.

Deputy Prime Minister Naumovski presented the organization of the Macedonian negotiating team and thanked for Croatia’s support, as well as the opportunity to benefit from its negotiation experiences.
