MFAEI sets up working group to monitor situation in Tunisia and assist Croatian citizens there

The group is led by Consular Affairs Director Vinko Ljubičić, who is in constant contact with the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia to Morocco and the honorary consul to Tunisia

The group is led by Consular Affairs Director Vinko Ljubičić, who is in constant contact with the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia to Morocco and the honorary consul to Tunisia. Tourist agencies that organize visits to Tunisia are also being contacted.

Due to the deteriorated security caused by protests throughout the country, which broke out in mid-December 2010 and involved clashes with the security forces, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration would like to warn of the increased travel risk. We would also like to report that today, for the purposes of preserving order and security, army forces were deployed in the center of Tunis.

The Croatian citizens traveling to or currently in Tunisia are advised to closely follow the development of the security and political situation in the county, exercise caution, and avoid any large gatherings or protests. We also advise them to stay in contact with the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia to Morocco or the honorary consul to Tunisia.
