Minister Jandroković pointed out that Croatia appreciated Denmark’s continuous support along its road to the EU membership, as well as the bilateral assistance in a series of projects concerning the reform of Croatia’s public administration system.

Informing Minister Espersen about the status of Croatia’s EU negotiations, Minister Jandroković said that Croatia aimed at closing them during Hungary’s EU presidency, in the first half of the following year, and then signing the Accession Treaty as soon as possible. He emphasized the Government’s dedication to fulfilling the rest of the obligations in regard to justice and public administration reform, combating corruption, and restructuring the shipbuilding industry.

Minister Espersen said that Denmark was showing full political and technical support for the completion of the accession process and Croatia’s joining the EU. Minister Jandroković pointed out the encouraging growth in public support for Croatia’s EU membership.

Discussing the economic cooperation, the ministers pointed out that Danish investors had already invested in Croatia, but agreed that there was ample room for new investments. The collocutors also exchanged opinions about the situation in South Eastern Europe, expressing support for the Euro-Atlantic integration processes in the region as a way of achieving complete peace and stability.
