Minister Gordan Jandroković met with UK Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs William Hague

In that regard, Minister Jandroković thanked the EU for supporting Croatia along its Euro-integration path.

Minister Jandroković informed his colleague about the current status of Croatia’s EU negotiations, saying that Croatia was doubling its efforts to complete the whole process in the first half of 2011, during Hungary’s EU presidency. He pointed out the importance the Croatian authorities were placing on the justice and public administration reform, while Secretary of State Hague said he appreciated the efforts and concrete results in combating corruption.

Minister Jandroković also remarked on the economic dimension of his visit to the UK, during which he will meet with British businessmen and participate in the round table in the City of London.

The meeting also discussed the state of affairs in South Eastern Europe, with the two ministers sharing a lot of the same views. They agreed that the perspective of membership in the Euro-Atlantic integration is the biggest incentive for conducting the necessary reforms, as well as the only guarantee of stability and prosperity in the region.

Secretary of State Hague said the strongly supported Croatia’s joining the EU, pointing out that Croatia was a positive example for other countries in the region that had set their course for Europe. He also commended about Croatia’s active role in international activities.
