On Wednesday 22. September 2010, a ferry to be used on the Danube between Vukovar and Bač was handed at the “Damen” shipyard near Rotterdam. On behalf of the Mayor of Vukovar, Željko Szabo, the ship was officially accepted by the charge d' affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Aleksandar Sunko.

The building of the ferry named “Golubica” (Dove) was sponsored by the Government of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. The ship was ceremoniously delivered ready to sail, its registered home port being Vukovar, with Croatian flag on the pole, and it will be transported on the rivers Rhine and Danube from Rotterdam to Vukovar where it will be put in commission.

The acceptance was attended by the Director of the Department for West and Central Europe of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Jaap Werner; the Director of the Department for Southeast Europe and the „Matra“ program, Caspar Veldkamp; the Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia in the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Čedomir Radojković; the management of the “Damen” shipyard and many other guests.
