On the margins of the 65th meeting of the UN General Assembly in New York, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Gordan Jandroković led the Croatian delegation at the meeting of Southeast-European leaders on 22 September 2010 titled: „Let us make integral Europe – completion of Euro-Atlantic integration processes in Southeast Europe“.

To the numerous participants gathered in the great hall of the Waldorf Astoria hotel in New York - including Turkish President Abdullah Gül, Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Haris Silajdžić, President of Macedonia Gjorge Ivanov, President of Montenegro Filip Vujanović, Prime Minister of Bulgaria Bojko Borisov, Prime Minister of Kosovo Hashim Thaçi, Foreign Minister of Slovenia Samuel Žbogar, and renowned personalities from public life, business community and politics of the state of New York led by Governor David Paterson - Minister Jandroković clearly said that the Republic of Croatia would, just like it has been doing to date, strongly support Euroatlantic integration processes in Southeast Europe tomorrow, when it would have become a full member of the European Union.

He said that the Republic of Croatia entered the final state of negotiations for full membership of the European Union, and it is determined to complete the technical part of the process by the end of the year or in the first quarter of the next year, in order to sign the Accession Agreement during the Hungarian presidency and join the European Union as soon as possible.

Croatian achievements in reaching the goals of membership of the European Union and NATO are strong encouragement to other SEE states. A clear and visible progress of the countries of the region should result in speeding up and completing the Euroatlantic integration process, said Jandroković, pointing out that the Republic of Croatia would convey its experience and knowledge of the accession process to the states in the region in order to facilitate their way and approaching the European Union and NATO.

The latest achievements are clear evidence that the states in the region are increasingly assuming responsibility to turn into reality the plan of a more dynamic integration process. However, for this process to gain momentum, the support of European and Euroatlantic partners is required in maintaining that the prospects of membership of Euroatlantic associations is achievable, concluded Minister Jandroković.
