On 17 September 2010, the Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia to Poland, MSc. Ivan Del Vechio, attended, at the invitation of the organisers, the international charity volleyball tournament in Katowice, dedicated to one of the most prominent Polish volleyball players, Agata-Mroz Olszewska, who had died of leukaemia two years ago.

The tournament featured women's volleyball clubs from Poland, Croatia, the Czech Republic, and Serbia.

The tournament took place under the sponsorship of the First Ladies, Anna Komorowska, Jolanta Kwasniewska and Danuta Walesa.

Agata Mroz-Olszewska won the European Championship with the Polish national team in 2003 and 2005. She was an ardent supporter of donating blood and bone marrow, mobilising the national and international public to show solidarity with victims of leukaemia.
