The tournament featured women's volleyball clubs from Poland, Croatia, the Czech Republic, and Serbia. The motto of this charity event was „Give part of yourself to others“ and it concurred with blood donation and registration of potential bone marrow donors.
The tournament took place under the sponsorship of the First Ladies, Anna Komorowska, Jolanta Kwasniewska and Danuta Walesa.
Agata Mroz-Olszewska won the European Championship with the Polish national team in 2003 and 2005. She was an ardent supporter of donating blood and bone marrow, mobilising the national and international public to show solidarity with victims of leukaemia.
