Minister Jandroković expressed satisfaction with the organization of panel on the situation in South Eastern Europe, which thus received equal treatment as topics of a wider global significance, such as fighting the economic crisis, efficient and safe energy distribution, and other topics on the international community’s agenda.
Minister Jandroković pointed out as the panel’s goals the identifying of real problems in regard to the current political and security situation in the region and the challenges facing its countries, as well as the visualization of the European and Euro-Atlantic future of this part of Europe.
As an example of successful cooperation and finding solutions to outstanding issues in the region, Minister Jandroković mentioned the solving of the border issue between Croatia and Slovenia. Bilateral cooperation of that kind is a historically important example of affirmative foreign-policy activity between the region’s countries, he remarked, saying that it sent a message to the rest of the region that outstanding issues should be solved through dialogue, mutual trust and by obeying the international law.
Minister Jandroković said that Croatia would solve the other outstanding issues with the countries of Europe’s southeast in the same spirit as well, and would continue alongside Slovenia with constructive actions in the region, pointing out the importance of maintaining the Euro-Atlantic perspective of its countries.
In his presentation, Minister Jandroković also pointed out that Croatia’s foreign policy remained dedicated to strengthening the cooperation and continuing the exchange of experiences with the region’s countries, along with an active role in building and maintaining the mutual trust with the European partners.
