Minister Jandroković and Senator Specter talked about very good relations between the United States and the Republic of Croatia, and about common visits of their officials, among others, the visit of Croatian Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor, which made such good relations possible. Minister Jandroković also reminded Senator Specter of the meetings that took place during his last official visit to the United States.

Senator Specter reiterated American support to Croatia's accession to the European Union and emphasised the Croatia's role in the region of South East Europe. He also thanked Croatia for its constant commitment to provide support to other countries in the region, and for its participation in the ISAF mission in Afghanistan, where the Republic of Croatia has increased its contingent by way of a recent decision of the Croatian Parliament.

Minister Jandroković thanked for the support provided by the United States in the process of Croatia's accession to the NATO, which was one of the goals of the Croatian foreign policy.

On this occasion the parties exchanged their views on the relations between the countries in the region, in particular in the context of the topics discussed in the Croatia Summit, related to safety and stability of South East Europe. They also addressed issues related to global foreign policy.
