As the fist country to recognize Croatia’s independence, Iceland will always hold a special place in Croatia’s history, and can count on full support and assistance during the negotiating process. Also, we are convinced that, as future members, we will excellently cooperate within the EU as well.
The Republic of Croatia strongly supports the EU enlargement policy, deeming that the launch of Iceland’s accession talks represents additional encouragement for the countries of South Eastern Europe to carry on with the reforms and the meeting of the membership criteria.
