State Secretary Plenković spoke about the Republic of Croatia's participation within the framework of the International Centre for Migration Policy Development. He welcomed the taking of significant actions related to migration and asylum policy within the framework of chapter 24 of the accession negotiations - Justice, freedom and security. He also mentioned that the amendments to the Draft Asylum Act were referred to Croatian Parliament for adoption adding that the activities of the Republic of Croatia within the framework of the International Centre for Migration Policy Development were complementary with its accession negotiations with the EU.

At the meeting of the Governing Board of the International Centre for Migration Policy Development speeches were also delivered by Marta Cygan, Director for immigration and asylum in the European Com¬mission’s Directorate-General for Justice, Freedom and Security, Filip Dragović, Director General of the European Integration and International Affairs Directorate of the Ministry of the Interior, and Berislav Mance from the Ministry of the Interior.
