State Secretary Plenković informed ambassador Blunt on the state of negotiations and stressed Croatia’s efforts to conclude the negotiations by the end of this year. He also informed on the expected dynamics leading to the signing the Treaty of Accession, in the context of financial aspects of the first two years of membership.

Ambassador Blunt said that the new British government shall support the policy of European enlargement and again expressed support to Croatia’s efforts in becoming a member state of the European Union. He also pointed out that the United Kingdom makes commitments in projects supporting the reform of the Croatian judicial system.

State Secretary Plenković and ambassador Blunt discussed general quality of bilateral relations as well as forthcoming ministerial meeting of the EU member states and countries of south–eastern Europe that will be held on 2 June 2010 in Sarajevo, on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the Zagreb Summit.
