State Secretary Plenković expressed satisfaction with the signing of the Convention which will, in the period of next three years, from 2010 to 2012, formalise and intensify the co–operation between these three institutions which exists since 2005. This co–operation primarily concerns the preparation of Croatian citizens for work in the institutions of the European Union. Specifically, it will be organised in the form of public courses for Croatian civil servants, lectures for general public and providing detailed information for employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration on the changes in the tendering procedure with the purpose of further information providing to the general public. The training will be provided by the experts of the National School of Administration, who have already shown great success in preparing French candidates, as well as candidates form other member and candidate states for membership in the European Union.

Ambassador Pasquier stated that the signing of the Convention is an important step in training and preparation of civil servants on Croatian path towards European integration, especially in the next two years when the finalisation of the accession negotiations is expected.

The Head of ENA Boucault agreed that today’s signing of the Convention sets firm foundations for future training of Croatian civil servants for work in the institutions of the European Union. He stressed that until now more than 6,500 French civil servants and more than 3,500 candidates form other European Union member states concluded the courses at this prestigious school.

Today, on the occasion of this event, in the Europe House in Zagreb an informative lecture will be organised for general public on possibilities of employment in the institutions of the European Union, which will be held by the Head of the Sector for preparatory exams at ENA, Julie Leprêtre.
