Within the framework of accession to the European Union, State Secretary Plenković stressed that Croatia will continue with the implementation of judicial reform and taking measures to fight against corruption. Furthermore, Croatia is dedicated to finalising the accession negotiations by the end of this year. Ambassador Kickert once again expressed support of the Republic of Austria to Croatia’s membership.

State Secretary Plenković and Ambassador Kickert also discussed the importance of the Danube dimension and co–operation of countries within the framework of the EU Strategy for the Danube region. Croatia and Austria continually work on developing projects in the framework of the Danube region, and have a lot of common interests in this area like environment protection, demining, culture, transport and other projects.
