Minister of Justice Ivan Šimonović also attended the meeting, as well as State Secretary of the Ministry of the Regional Development, Forestry and Water Management, Stanko Janić.

Minister Jandroković expressed hope that, during their stay in the Republic of Croatia, the OSCE ambassadors will have a chance to witness the positive results arising from the efforts of the Government of the Republic of Croatia in resolving last two mandate issues of the OSCE Office in Zagreb. He added that the Government of the Republic of Croatia sees the above mentioned obligations as priorities.

He also commented on the results of Croatia’s foreign policy, especially stressing full membership in NATO which was granted last year, and final phase of negotiations with the European Union. He repeated that Croatian Government supports south–eastern European countries on their path to Euro – Atlantic integration. In that context, Minister Jandroković reminded the OSCE ambassadors that we have handed the translation of the acquis communautaire to Croatian language to the countries of the region, and have given a strong and unquestioning support to Bosnia and Herzegovina concerning the invitation to NATO Membership Action Plan and the recent international conference „Permanent Solutions for Refugees and Displaced Persons– Co–operation between the Countries in the Region“, held in Beograd. During the conference, Croatia stated its attitude towards refugees and displaced persons, which should be based on a depoliticized, humane and individual approach in accordance with international standards, and aimed at persons who are in true need of social aid.

Concerning the co–operation with the OSCE Office in the Republic of Croatia, Minister Jandroković expressed satisfaction with a constructive and productive co–operation as well as its results which are actual and measurable. He also stressed that the Republic of Croatia has great interest in security debates within the OSCE and is interested in creating more efficient security institutions and mechanisms. Launching of the Corfu Process as a new framework for debates on security situations within the OSCE organisation, according to the Minister, is exceptionally useful for the purpose of identifying problematic areas and finding answers for the existing European security system.

Minister Šimonović presented activities and achievements in the area of processing war crimes, and State Secretary Janić clarified on the implementation of finding accommodation for former holders of right of tenure.
