Ambassador Mrđen Korać, because of participation in the programme of visit of the Prime Minister of Canada Stephen Harper to the Republic of Croatia, thanked by video-link to all members of the Chamber for their votes and stressed that this award presents her greatest personal acknowledgement, but also the acknowledgement of Croatian diplomacy.

She mentioned that during her mandate as ambassador, she had two equally important goals – improvement of Croatian – Canadian relations and working with the Croatian community in Canada, since this community was always first to help Croatia and today remains an important factor in creating Canadian policy towards the Republic of Croatia.

She also reminded that it was the Croatian community in Canada that at the last Canadian parliamentary elections turned the attention of representatives towards Croatia and for the purpose of supporting the cancellation of visa regime collected thousands of signatures. Also, it has always been at disposal during the organisation of every visit of high–ranking officials which could present a step forward in Croatian – Canadian relations.

Ambassador Mrđen Korać concluded that Croatian – Canadian relations are at their highest political and economic levels today, both in Croatia and Canada.
