State Secretary for Political Affairs Davor Božinović held on Monday, 3 May 2010, consultations on NATO with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ana Trišić-Babić.

After Bosnia and Herzegovina has been granted the Membership Action Plan at the Meeting of NATO Foreign Ministers on 23 April in Tallinn, State Secretary Božinović shared Croatia’s experiences in the NATO accession process with the Deputy Minister Trišić-Babić.

State Secretary Božinović mentioned the need of good co–ordination of state administration bodies, so that Bosnia and Herzegovina could, through the Action Plan, prepare well for the future membership. He also stressed the importance of the NATO Mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as informing the public on NATO and what the future membership will bring, so that the necessary reforms would have public support.

Deputy Minister Trišić-Babić said that the future NATO membership of Bosnia and Herzegovina is strongly supported by both entities. The collocutors agreed that approaching the NATO membership is excellent news, for Bosnia and Herzegovina as well as for other countries in south-eastern Europe region.
