Celebration in honour of Mary Help, protector of Salesian University in Rome, ended Festa dei popoli, at which Croatia was guest of honour

The celebration began with a holy mass, followed by a concert by Klapa Grdelin from Zagreb, organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia to the Holy See, which met with a favourable response on the part of the numerous students from various countries, as well as the professors from the Salesian University

Apart from Croatian Ambassador to the Holy See Emilio Marin, the event also saw the presence of the Apostolic Nuncio to the Italian Republic, Archbishop Giuseppe Bertello, the new Salesian Bishop don Mario Toso, Secretary of the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace, Salesian University Rector don Carlo Nanni, and numerous Croats on service or study in Rome.

Festa dei popoli began on May 10th, when the photography exhibition by Marko Vrdoljak entitled “Čudesna Hrvatska” (The Wonderful Croatia) was opened, also organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia to the Holy See, showing Croatia’s natural beauties and cultural landmarks.

As part of the opening, Ambassador Emilio Marin delivered lecture on “Seeing Europe and the Mediterranean”.
