Minister Jandroković said he believes the relations between Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Turkey are of strategic importance for the improvement of the overall situation in South Eastern Europe. In that regard, the ministers agreed that the strengthening of the security situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina is a precondition for the stability of the region as a whole. They welcomed the conditional decision to include Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Membership Action Plan, which the NATO members’ foreign ministers had reached at the last week’s meeting in Tallinn.

The Republic of Croatia, said Minister Jandroković, as the leader of the Euro-Atlantic integration in the region of South Eastern Europe, will continue to support the domestic policy changes, especially the constitutional ones, aimed at strengthening Bosnia and Herzegovina as a country with a clear European perspective. In regard to the constitutional changes, Minister Jandroković reiterated Croatia’s official position on preserving the constitutional status of Croats in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Minister Davutoğlu agreed with that position, pointing out that all of the three constitutive nations should enjoy equal rights, regardless of the fact that Croats are the least populous nation in Bosnia and Herzegovina. He thanked the Republic of Croatia and Minister Jandroković personally for the support for the Membership Action Plan.

Minister Alkalaj also expressed his gratitude, pointing out that without the constant support of Croatia and Turkey, Bosnia and Herzegovina would still not have been invited to join the Membership Action.

Minister Jandroković said that the three countries share the same views and positions on the future of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and that Croatia would continue to support Bosnia and Herzegovina’s road to the Euro-Atlantic integration.

The meeting resulted in concrete conclusions, one of which is that tripartite meeting will be held every three months. The ministers also agreed that within the next three-month period, a highest-level meeting between the three countries will be held. Representatives of Croatia, Turkey and Bosnia and Herzegovina agreed to support the dialogue between the three constitutive nations of Bosnia and Herzegovina, emphasizing its importance, as well as the importance of the equality of the nations.

The collocutors also talked about concrete assistance projects in building infrastructural facilities, pointing out the Vc corridor and the reconstruction of the historic-cultural monuments and public institutions in Mostar.
