The medal presentation ceremony took place on Tuesday, 13 April 2010, at the Office of the Dean of the State University in Rosario in the presence of the Vice-Dean of the University, Eduard Seminara, the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, Daniel Musitano, the honorary consul of the Republic of Croatia in Rosario, Dražen Antun Juraga, and numerous professors and students of the University.
In 2005, Maria Galian took over the first Croatian language department on the continent of South America, at the Faculty of Humanities of the State University in Rosario and managed this department with dedication until 2009, without receiving any monetary compensation. During that period, the State University in Rosario included the Croatian language into its academic curriculum, which resulted in the signing of the agreement between the Croatian Ministry of Science, Education and Sports and the University (in 2008) concerning the Croatian language lectureship and in mid 2009, the department was taken over by professor Ivana Glavaš, who was sent by the MSES of the Republic of Croatia.
