The Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Gordan Jandroković, received the Ambassador of Iceland to the Republic of Croatia located in Berlin, Gunnar Snorrij Gunarsson, for his inaugural visit

Minister Jandroković said that the visit of the Ambassador of Iceland represents an additional stimulus to very good bilateral relations between the Republic of Croatia and Iceland, and additionally strengthens cooperation in the area which is of interest to both countries – membership of the European Union. Minister Jandroković stressed that Croatia had entered the final stage of negotiations and he informed Ambassador Gunarsson about the current status of negotiation chapters, and about the reforms that Croatia will continue to implement. They have exchanged opinions on the level of support showed both by Icelandic and Croatian public in relation to rapprochement to the European Union.

The two officials agreed that good political relations need to be supported by an identical level of economic cooperation, and they also talked about the official visit of the Icelandic minister of foreign affairs to the Republic of Croatia.
