State Secretary Andrej Plenković received Polish Ambassador to Croatia Wieslaw Tarka

The state secretary once again expressed condolences to Ambassador Tarka over the death of Polish President Lech Kaczyński and his spouse Marie Kaczyńska, as well as civil and military high officials killed in the plane crash near Smolensk

The state secretary once again expressed condolences to Ambassador Tarka over the death of Polish President Lech Kaczyński and his spouse Marie Kaczyńska, as well as civil and military high officials killed in the plane crash near Smolensk. He also expressed regret over the Croatian officials’ inability to attend the funeral due to the air traffic halt over Europe.

Describing the bilateral relations as very good, the collocutors talked about Croatia’s EU accession. State Secretary Plenković informed Ambassador Tarka about the pending activities, especially those concerning informing the Croatian public about the EU, the EU accession referendum and signing the Accession Treaty. In that regard, he pointed out Croatia’s political and operative readiness to complete the technical part of the negotiations by the end of this year.

Ambassador Tarka expressed Poland’s strong support for Croatia along its path to the EU membership, expressing a wish for close cooperation during Poland’s EU presidency in the second half of the next year.
