Minister Gordan Jandroković and the President of the Republic of Kosovo opened the Embassy of the Republic of Kosovo in Zagreb

Minister Jandroković and President Sejdiu pointed out that the opening of the Embassy of the Republic of Kosovo was yet another confirmation of the good and friendly relations between the two countries. They expressed satisfaction with the fact that the Republic of Croatia was one of the first countries where the Republic of Kosovo opened their embassy.

Minister Jandroković said that through its activities Croatia would continue with the efforts to contribute to the peace, stability and prosperity of the region of South East Europe, and he expressed the hope that a method will be found to include the Republic of Kosovo in all relevant regional initiatives as soon as possible. He added that Croatia will continue with the efforts to continue transmitting its experiences and assistance in different fields, and in particular in the process of Euro-Atlantic integration.

Accepting the political reality, the Republic of Croatia, in a coordinated action with its Euro-Atlantic partners, recognised the independence of the Republic of Kosovo on 19 March 2008 and the diplomatic relations were established on 30 June 2008.
