The collocutors agreed that the relations between Croatia and the US are friendly and allied, with shared values, describing them as best thus far. Minister Jandroković said he wished for the constructive dialogue and excellent relations to continue.

Informing Deputy Secretary of State Lew about the current status of Croatia’s accession process, Minister Jandroković said Croatia remains dedicated to the full cooperation with the ICC and advocates the Euro-Atlantic perspective for the entire region of South Eastern Europe.

The collocutors also talked about Croatia’s intention to strengthen its participation in the peacekeeping mission in Afghanistan by forming a training team for both the police and army forces.

Deputy Secretary of State Lew remarked that the US, in accordance with its foreign-policy priorities, highly appreciates Croatia’s contribution to ISAF. He pointed out Croatia’s contribution to the stabilization of and cooperation in South Eastern Europe, as well as its support for the Euro-Atlantic integration of the other countries in the region. In that regard, he said the US politically supports Croatia’s EU accession process, which Minister Jandroković expressed gratitude for.

The meeting also discussed the political and security situation in South Eastern Europe.
