The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, based on an internal list, informed the State Audit about the works of art, office supplies and furniture that had gone missing primarily between 2000 and 2003, and despite the regulations had not been registered as such.

In question are 47 paintings and other works of art, with an overall bookkeeping worth of 430,000 kuna.

In the meantime, after a further check of the relocated works of art and supplies, five of the seven sought paintings have been found at the central building of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, two at the Croatian Embassy in Sarajevo, and one at the Croatian Embassy in Warsaw.

The results of the internal control, as well as the complete list of the property found and still missing, have been relayed to the MFAEI Internal Audit Department and the Secretariat, in order to determine the whereabouts of the missing works of art, office supplies and furniture, and launch the proceedings before the other relevant state bodies.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration will continue looking for the missing property.
