State Secretary Božinović informed the Finnish delegation about the actualities of Croatia’s negotiating process and the activities the Croatian Government is undertaking to complete the EU accession negotiations as soon as possible, with a special emphasis on the battle against corruption and organized crime. He thanked for the support Finland is offering Croatia along its path to the EU, including the 13 twinning projects being implemented as part of Finland’s bilateral assistance to Croatia, which makes Finland third in the number of twinning projects in Croatia.

State Secretary Božinović commented the situation in the region as well, pointing out that the Euro-Atlantic perspective is the best contribution to the stability and prosperity of South Eastern Europe, which is important not only for the region, but also for Europe as a whole. He remarked that Croatia’s model serves as an example to all the region’s countries that see their future in the European Union.
