The collocutors expressed satisfaction with the two countries’ excellent relations, which can serve as an example of good-neighbourly cooperation. The holding of joint government sessions is a further confirmation of the highly-developed partnership and strategic relations between the Republic of Croatia and the Republic of Hungary.

State Secretary Božinović informed his collocutor about Croatia’s progress in the EU accession process and the steps the Croatian Government is taking to close the negotiations as soon as possible. He thanked Hungary for the support it is lending Croatia along its road to the EU, including the readiness to transfer its positive experience in using the EU funds.

State Secretary Božinović also pointed out that Croatia fully supports the drawing up of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region (the Danube Strategy), which would greatly strengthen Croatia’s bilateral relations with the Danube countries. In that regard, both sides stressed the importance of the Danube Summit, to be held February 25th 2010 in Budapest, as well as the support among partnership countries in the realization of mutual-interest projects.
