At the invitation by the University of Helsinki, continuing the activities of the Croatian Embassy directed at strengthening the academic cooperation between Croatia and Finland, Ambassador Kušen delivered a lecture on Croatia and the EU, as well as the possibilities of strengthening Croatia-Finland cooperation in innovation and high technology. Ambassador Kušen outlined the dynamic of Croatia’s EU negotiations, the priorities of its foreign policy and economy, and the possibilities of strengthening the economic cooperation, especially in nanotechnology and pure energy.

The lecture was held after a presentation by the Ruđer Bošković Institute, prompted by the excellent cooperation between the embassy and the leading Finnish scientific and research institutes, technology parks and umbrella organizations for stimulating the development of high technologies in Finland. As a result of that cooperation, Zagreb has recently seen a presentation of the Finnish industry’s positive experience with their membership in CERN, one of the world’s leading scientific research centers.
