Minister Gordan Jandroković held with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kanat Saudabayev a bilateral meeting

Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Gordan Jandroković held on Wednesday, 2 December 2009, with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kanat Saudabayev a bilateral meeting in Athens, on the sidelines of the 17th meeting of the Ministerial Council of members states of the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe

Bilateral relations are developing well, in particular based on continuing political consultations between the two Ministries of Foreign Affairs, concluded Ministers Jandroković and Saudabayev.

The Ministers used the opportunity of the meeting to highlight the areas of the economy where bilateral cooperation could be stepped up. These areas include construction and maintenance of energy and transport infrastructure in Kazakhstan, exploration and exploitation of oil and gas, production of engineering materials, and food and pharmaceutical industries. Minister Jandroković invited the Kazakhstan side to invest in the Republic of Croatia.

The Ministers discussed the future role of and challenges faced by the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe, with presidency of the Republic of Kazakhstan in 2010.

In addition, Minister Jandroković informed his collocutor about the current status of Croatia’s accession negotiations and achievements of the Republic of Croatia thus far on its way to full membership of the European Union.

Minister Jandroković invited his Kazakhstani counterpart to visit the Republic of Croatia next year.
