The workshop brought together around 150 national experts on cyber security, representatives of the state institutions, the public and private sectors, and the academic community. Presentations were also held by internationally recognised experts in this field, including the representatives of the United Nations, European Union, NATO, Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe, and the Council of Europe.
The main goal of the workshop is to comprehensively examine a wide range of issues of cyber security (including the use of the Internet for terrorist purposes, cybercrime, and protection of the critical infrastructure) through speeches and presentation of experiences of experts in this field. The purpose of the workshop is to define the recommendations and guidelines for further activity by recognising the trends in different forms of cyber threats, including strategic planning, possible legislative measures, mechanisms for protection, prevention and combating through criminal prosecution, and measures for speedy recovery from cyber threats.
