Croatia elected one of five new members of UN Advisory Committee for Administrative and Budgetary Questions for 2010-2012 period

Croatia will be represented by Jasminka Dinić, currently minister advisor at the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Croatia to the UN in New York

The elections were held at the UN headquarters in New York November 6th 2009. Croatia’s candidacy was supported by 110 of the 189 present countries, the opposing candidate Poland won 74 votes, while five countries abstained.

This is the first time Croatia is elected to this important body of the UN, which controls its regular budget, as well as the budget of the UN peacekeeping missions and international organizations, and advises the UN General Assembly on the issues of opening new jobs within the UN system.
