The meeting was set up with the intention of exchanging the experience Croatia has gained in the EU accession process by way of a contribution to the strong support Croatia is showing for the European perspective of all the region’s countries. A series of meetings was held with other ministry’s representatives as well on the relevant topics concerning the European integration.

State Secretary Božinović pointed out that Croatia continually supports Serbia in its EU accession process. He informed Delević about the progress of the accession negotiations, emphasizing that Croatia has no intention of dragging bilateral issues into the Euro-Atlantic accession processes of other countries. He applauded the European Commission’s positive remarks about Serbia’s Progress Report, as well as the suggestion to cancel the visa regime for Serbia as of January 1st 2010, expressing expectation that the remaining conditions will also be satisfied.

Head of the European Integration Office Delević familiarized State Secretary Božinović with the topical issues in Serbia’s EU accession, noting the issues of implementing the Interim Agreement, public support for the EU accession, and assessments from this year’s Progress Report.
