Minister Jandroković expressed his satisfaction with the very good and friendly relations between the Republic of Croatia and the Kingdom of Belgium.
Discussing the accession of the Republic of Croatia to the European Union, Minister Jandroković informed his collocutor that Croatia had fulfilled the majority of its commitments, and had completed working on two thirds of the chapters that are being negotiated. He said that we are currently in the final stage of concluding and meeting all closing benchmarks, and anticipate the negotiation process to continue shortly for 15 chapters, nine of which are ready to be opened, and six of which are ready to be closed. The Republic of Croatia has laid grounds for opening the remaining chapters at the upcoming Intergovernmental Conference on Croatia's accession to the EU. The required reforms have been completed in a majority of the demanding fields, such as shipbuilding, and are continuing in the fields of justice, public administration and cooperation with the International Criminal Tribunal in The Hague.
During the day, Minister Jandroković will participate in the meeting of the Group of Friends of the Alliance of Civilizations, and in a meeting on the topic of “Partnership for safety with regard to food”.
