MFAEI reintroduced “ABC of the EU” seminars for training civil servants in matters of European integration and Croatia’s EU accession

The first in the series of seminars, entitled “The Basics of the EU”, familiarizes the attendees with the basic concepts and facts necessary for understanding the rest of the modules from the series

The first in the series of seminars, entitled “The Basics of the EU”, familiarizes the attendees with the basic concepts and facts necessary for understanding the rest of the modules from the series. The topics include the history of the European integration, the EU institutions and decision-making processes, common policy, single market, EU enlargement and the development of the EU-Croatia relations.

The first half of 2009 already saw 25 such seminars, attended by an overall of 570 state and public officials. “The ABC of the EU” series is being held since 2002, under the financial and expert auspices of the Kingdom of Denmark. The program is constantly being updated with new modules, and today includes the following seminars: The EU Basics, Introduction to the European Community Law, Regional Policy of the EU, Managing the Project Cycle, Researching and Finding EU Documents, European Integration and Translating”, Introduction to the EU Economic Policy, and Negotiating in the EU Institutions.
