State Secretary Davor Božinović received members of Croatian minority from Serbia, awarded medals today by Croatian President

State Secretary Božinović said that with these medals the Republic of Croatia had shown recognition to Croats in Vojvodina for their scientific and cultural achievements, as well as for all their contribution to both the Croatian community in the area and their motherland

State Secretary Božinović said that with these medals the Republic of Croatia had shown recognition to Croats in Vojvodina for their scientific and cultural achievements, as well as for all their contribution to both the Croatian community in the area and their motherland. He concluded that with this ceremonious act Croatia is showing a full and continuous support for the national identity and cultural productivity of the Croats abroad.

The President awarded the Order of Danica with the figure of Marko Marulić to the following Croatian writers and cultural workers in Vojvodina: writer, translator and chronicler of local Croatian history in Subotica Lazar Merković, writer and the only Vojvodina Croat to receive the NIN novel award Petko Vojnić Purčar, writer, linguist and retired university professor Jasna Melvinger, and writer and cultural worker Vojislav Sekelj.
