Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Ivica Tomić awarded a high Croatian medal “Order of Croatian Danica with figure of Marko Marulić” to a distinguished British historian and author Robin Harris in London on Thursday, 9 July 2009. The medal was awarded to him by President of the Republic of Croatia Stjepan Mesić for special contribution to the development of cultural relations between Great Britain and Croatia.

His book about the history of Dubrovnik is the first official, modern history of Dubrovnik in the English language and represents one of the most significant contributions to the understanding of Croatian history in Great Britain.
The ceremonial presentation of the medal at the Residence of the Croatian Embassy was attended by 40 distinguished guests from politics, culture and scientific circles of Great Britain, and eminent representatives of the Croatian community.
