The exhibition consists of several thematic elements which tell about his life and career, including photographs, newspaper articles, and a memento of the 1987 Universiade in Zagreb. The results Mirko Novosel achieved in his work are esteemed even today, and great sports results that Croatian basketball won under his leadership remain unparalleled to date, pointed out Ambassador Kuprešak.

Apart from his engagement in sports, Mirko Novosel left an indelible mark in the life of Zagreb on the function of secretary general of the 1987 Universiade, when he succeeded in changing the appearance of the city and having a number of facilities built, which remain the pride of Zagreb even today. A reception was held on the eve of tomorrow’s opening of the Universiade in Belgrade, attended by the “golden generation” basketball players Zoran Slavnić, Sven Ušić, Dražen Dalipagić and others.
