The Agreement will regulate the area of economic cooperation in the relations between Croatia and China so as to further enhance the two countries’ overall economic relations, based on the principles of equality and mutual benefit. The Agreement is on the Croatian part also harmonized with the acquis, the part concerning Croatia’s signing of bilateral agreements in trade and economic cooperation.
The Agreement also determines the areas which Croatia and China believe show possibilities for long-term cooperation, namely shipbuilding, mechanical engineering, infrastructure, agriculture and food industry, pharmaceutical industry, telecommunications, wood industry, as well as other areas of economic and industrial cooperation.
For the purposes of monitoring the implementation of the Agreement, a Joint Economic Cooperation Commission is to be established.
