Ishigami informed Ambassador Štambuk about his forthcoming visit to Croatia in September for the project of designing 10 villas in Zagreb, during which he will hold a lecture on the invitation by the ORIS architecture magazine. Ishigami said he is especially interested in the traditional and renovation architecture, and on Ambassador Štambuk’s suggestion said he would visit Dalmatia for the possibility of his taking part in the renovation of old stone buildings destroyed during WW2.
Junya Ishigami is the winner of this year’s most prestigious prize by the Japanese Architecture Association for his overall opus, and is famous for juxtaposing nature and man in his architectural endeavours.
