The present parties were greeted by Ambassador Ivica Tomić, while the author was introduced by David Davison, chairman of the British-Croatian Society.

The book Great Britain and Vis – War in the Adriatic 1805-1815 describes the events in the Adriatic during the Napoleonic Wars and relations between the major forces, and represents a result of Hardy’s research of the British archives which have previously not been used in that way, making the book a valuable contribution to the study of the Croatian-British historic ties.

The lecture saw the attendance of British historians, the curators of the Maritime Museum, representatives of the Croatian and British maritime companies, representatives of business and cultural institutions, and diplomats.
