Minister Jandroković thanked Secretary General Scheffer for his personal contribution to and assistance in Croatia’s preparations for NATO membership, emphasizing our dedication to the Alliance’s values and activities in preserving world peace.
Yesterday, Secretary General Scheffer also sent a letter to Minister Jandroković, formally inviting the Republic of Croatia to join the North Atlantic Alliance.
The next step is depositing Croatia’s ratification instrument in the US State Department, making Croatia a full-fledged member of the Alliance, who will then as such participate in the forthcoming NATO Summit in Strasbourg/Kehl.
The deposition ceremony is expected tomorrow.
