On occasion of Canada’s decision to cancel visas for Croatian citizens, State Secretary Davor Božinović received Canadian Ambassador to Croatia Thomas Marr

The meeting pointed out that the visa cancellation is the result of years-long efforts by the Croatian diplomacy, as well as the Croatian community in Canada, to remove all obstacles on the way to a full development of cooperation

The meeting pointed out that the visa cancellation is the result of years-long efforts by the Croatian diplomacy, as well as the Croatian community in Canada, to remove all obstacles on the way to a full development of cooperation. At the same time, Croatia has continued to successfully carry out the reforms, which has been recognized by the relevant Canadian bodies, who recommended to the Canadian Government that visas for Croatian citizens be cancelled.

The collocutors also agreed that this decision is a confirmation of the very good bilateral relations between the two countries, especially noting Croatia and Canada’s cooperation and alliance within NATO.

The cancellation of visas was described as a milestone in the Croatian-Canadian relations, which would undoubtedly greatly contribute to the further development of the two countries’ overall cooperation.
