Minister Gordan Jandroković received on farewell visit Japanese Ambassador Tetsuhiso Shirakawa

The collocutors confirmed the existence of friendly relations between the two countries, which are on a constant rise. Minister Jandroković thanked Ambassador Shirakawa for his personal contribution to the enhancement of the bilateral relations between Croatia and Japan during his ambassadorial mandate, extending a special gratitude to the Japanese Government for its assistance in a series of humanitarian and scientific projects, as well as in mine action

The collocutors confirmed the existence of friendly relations between the two countries, which are on a constant rise. Minister Jandroković thanked Ambassador Shirakawa for his personal contribution to the enhancement of the bilateral relations between Croatia and Japan during his ambassadorial mandate, extending a special gratitude to the Japanese Government for its assistance in a series of humanitarian and scientific projects, as well as in mine action.

Ambassador Shirakawa said Japan fully supports Croatia’s joining the Euro-Atlantic structures, inviting Minister Jandroković as part of further enhancing the interstate relations to visit Japan, which he accepted.

Talking about the possibilities of further developing the economic cooperation, the collocutors noted that the number of Japanese tourists had quadrupled in the last three years, so that as much as 140,000 Japanese guests visited Croatia in 2008.

The meeting also discussed the two countries’ cooperation within the UN Security Council, which both countries are currently non-permanent members of.
