The meeting between President Peres and Ambassador Matković confirmed the high level of bilateral relations between the Republic of Croatia and the State of Israel, and saw the exchange of opinions about the current political events in the Near East. Ambassador Matković relayed to President Peres the invitation by Croatian President Stjepan Mesić to visit Croatia.
After the handover ceremony, Ambassador Matković laid a wreath at the Yad Vashem Memorial Center and symbolically boosted the eternal flame in memory of the Holocaust victims.
