Ambassador Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović and DHS Assistant Secretary for Policy Stewart Baker signed statement on advancing security measures for international travels and US Visa Waiver Program demands

The statement represents an important step towards Croatia’s full entry into the Visa Waiver Program, provided other conditions are met as well

Pursuant to the statement, the DHS and other relevant agencies of the US Government intent to assist the Croatian Ministry of Interior and other competent bodies in developing programs, systems, and procedures pertaining to the safety of travel and borders, developing and issuing electronic passports, timely reports on lost and stolen passports, information exchange aimed at improving border security and control, including information about the travellers, in order to enhance the security standards for travel documents.

The statement reflects the two countries’ wish for facilitating the travel between their respective citizens by strengthening the cooperation in border security and enhancing the international travel security, in accordance with the US Visa Waiver Program demands.
