MFAEI received notification on unanimous confirmation of Protocol on NATO Enlargement to Croatia by Spanish Senate

This completes the procedure of ratifying the Protocol in both houses of the Spanish Parliament, since the House of Representatives ratified it on 3 December 2008

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration received notification on the unanimous confirmation of the Protocol on NATO Enlargement to the Republic of Croatia by the Senate of the Kingdom of Spain.

This completes the procedure of ratifying the Protocol in both houses of the Spanish Parliament, since the House of Representatives ratified it on 3 December 2008. This act makes the Spanish Parliament the 12th among the 26 NATO members to ratify the Protocol on NATO Enlargement to the Republic of Croatia.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration sees the ratification as an additional incentive for Croatia on its way to NATO membership. The Ministry expects the other NATO members to ratify it soon as well, so Croatia could attend the next NATO summit as a full-fledged member.
