Minister Gordan Jandroković met with Slovenian Foreign Minister Samuel Žbogar

The two ministers exchanged opinions about the bilateral relations between Croatia and Slovenia, as well as about the possible way and dynamic of solving the outstanding issues

The two ministers exchanged opinions about the bilateral relations between Croatia and Slovenia, as well as about the possible way and dynamic of solving the outstanding issues. Both ministers described the two countries’ relations as very good.

In press statements after the meeting, the ministers expressed their satisfaction with this meeting having taken place. It was their first meeting after the Slovenian minister’s inauguration.

Regarding the outstanding issues with Slovenia, Minister Jandroković said that Croatia wants to solve them in a mutually acceptable way, in the European spirit, based on the principles of good-neighbourliness. He added that Croatia and Slovenia are close to finding that solution.

Minister Žbogar pointed out that an agreement had been reached on how to strengthen the trust and respect between the two countries in order to facilitate solving the outstanding issues. He also noted that Croatia, who will be presiding over the UN Security Council this month, is an important collocutor for topics of global importance as well.

The two ministers also stated that they had agreed on establishing a regular for of communication between the ministers and ministries of foreign affairs.
